How We Review Antivirus Software
Our methodology explains what we measure. This page explains the process a page goes through before it is published, and what happens to it afterwards.

Step 1 — Scope and research
We map the product's real range: which plan tiers exist, what each one includes, which platforms are genuinely supported and which are a thin companion app. Marketing names are reconciled against what the installer actually deploys.
Step 2 — Installation on a clean system
The product is installed on a clean Windows environment so we can describe the installation path a reader will encounter: account requirements, bundled components, browser extensions, restart prompts and default settings.
Step 3 — Hands-on interface work
We run the standard tasks a home user performs — a quick scan, a full scan, a quarantine restore, an exclusion, and a full uninstall — and record where each one is hidden and where it goes wrong.
Step 4 — Evidence review
Independent laboratory results across several consecutive rounds are reviewed for protection and performance context, alongside the developer's own privacy and support documentation.
Step 5 — Editorial review
A second reader checks every factual claim against a source, verifies that every outbound link resolves to an official developer domain, and confirms that any commercial relationship is disclosed on the page.
Step 6 — Scheduled re-checks
Published pages return to the queue on a rolling basis. Anything time-sensitive — offers, plan structures, download paths — is re-checked more often than the descriptive content around it.
